Denise Bessette is a professional actress, producer and teacher with over 40 years of experience. As one of the founders of Hudson Stage Company, which was Westchester County's professional Actors' Equity theatre (www.hudsonstage.com), she produced all of its mainstage productions and staged readings over its 25 year history.
Denise was an Adjunct Professor of Acting in the SUNY Purchase College BFA film program and its Summer Intensive for 20 years. She has run acting workshops for adults with mental illness for the Phelps CDT program, St. Vincent's Day Program and PATHWAYS in Greenwich, CT.
As an actress, Denise was seen in several Hudson Stage productions, including Nora in "A Doll's House, Part 2". Her extensive theatre experience spans the country including Long Wharf, the Kennedy Center, Interact Theatre in Los Angeles, the Huntington Theatre in Boston and her many TV appearances include HBO Max's The Other Two, CBS's Bull, Law and Order, SVU and Law and Order, and Seinfeld.
Her approach to teaching acting is both eclectic and “wholistic”, drawing from the wide range of her training in NYC, London and Los Angeles and her professional experience. This includes physical and vocal work/warm-ups, improvisational exercises, original writing assignments, and a broad range of material from theatre, film and television that's age appropriate.
